Fatal collision near a store: a female pedestrian was killed at the scene
Crossing the road at an unmarked location: police are establishing the details of the tragic accident
In the village of Kumari in the Pervomaiskyi district of Mykolaiv Oblast, a fatal road traffic accident occurred in which a female pedestrian died. This was reported by the Mykolaiv Oblast police.
According to law enforcement, the accident occurred today, May 8 2026, at around 1:00 p.m. near a local shop. The 67-year-old driver of a Renault Kadjar struck a 50-year-old woman, who, according to preliminary information, was crossing the roadway at a location not designated for crossing. As a result of the crash, the woman died at the scene.
Investigators of the regional police investigative department qualified the incident under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of vehicles by persons who drive them. The article’s sanction provides for punishment of up to eight years’ imprisonment with possible disqualification from driving for a term of up to three years.
