Language inspections in Korabelnyi District: 22 institutions inspected in a week, violations found
During raids with entrepreneurs, explanatory talks were held
During the past working week, namely 13 – 17 April 2026, specialists of the Trade and Entrepreneurship Coordination Department of the Administration of the Korabelnyi District of the city of Mykolaiv carried out raids – inspections of trade and service facilities to verify compliance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language”.
During the raids in the district 22 establishments were inspected.
“One violation was identified, one warning issued. Two establishments did not carry out business activities,” reported the district administration.
Explanatory talks were held with entrepreneurs during the raids, namely: “according to the law, outdoor advertising, announcements, signs, shop signs and other publicly displayed textual, visual and audio information used to inform about goods, works, services must be provided in the state language. The language of customer service in Ukraine is the state language”, and business entities were warned about administrative liability for violating the Law.
Business entities that refuse to bring their activities into compliance with the requirements of the Law and continue to violate citizens’ rights may, in accordance with Article 57 of the Law, be issued a warning or be subject to fines by the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language.
It should be noted that according to Article 188-52 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses a warning or a fine from UAH 3,400 to UAH 8,500 is provided if the violation is committed for the first time, and a fine for a repeated violation within a year is from UAH 8,500 to UAH 11,900.
