After a video of shooting at a car, the TCC stated: it was not their fighter
Didn't want to show documents — staged an "action": the driver rammed
According to a report from the Kyiv City TCC and SP dated 18 April 2026, in the capital a vehicle was stopped during joint operations by the police and servicemen of the district TCC to check the driver’s military registration documents. However, the man refused to comply with the lawful orders of the officers and attempted to flee.
During the escape he damaged an official vehicle and ran over the leg of one of the servicemen. After that, a video appeared online in which the sounds of shots can be heard.
Currently, a criminal case has been opened against the driver under Part 2 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — resistance to a representative of the authorities or a law enforcement officer.
The TCC noted that the circumstances of the shooting will be investigated separately. According to preliminary information, the shots may have been fired by one of the servicemen who was not part of the notification group and who used a personal device to fire rubber bullets.
“A service investigation has been ordered regarding the fact of shots being fired in order to clarify the circumstances and motives of the shooting. The results of the investigation will be handed over to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment”, – the Kyiv City TCC and SP said.
Thus, the situation has received two legal assessments at once: separately regarding the actions of the driver who fled and injured a serviceman, and separately regarding the use of weapons, which is currently being investigated.
