In Kyiv on Budindustriyi Street, an intoxicated Alfa Romeo driver, during a pursuit, ran over a patrol officer, caused several collisions and attempted to flee, and police used their service firearms to force the vehicle to stop.
According to the Patrol Police of Ukraine, a crew on duty in the Pecherskyi district noticed an Alfa Romeo violating traffic rules. The driver ignored the lawful order to stop and, accelerating, continued to drive.
When officers tried to stop the car, the driver struck one of the inspectors and rammed a police vehicle, after which he hit a parked Mercedes.
The police noted the legal grounds for the use of weapons and emphasized that there were no injured persons.
To forcibly stop the vehicle, in accordance with Part 4, Clause 7, Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police,” patrol officers used service firearms. As a result of the shooting, there were no injuries
