Day of fires: in Mykolaiv, garbage and a car burned, as well as an apartment balcony and a basement
Rescuers are once again dealing with the consequences of war and human negligence
According to the State Emergency Service, April 5 and the night of April 6, 2026, nine fires were recorded in Mykolaiv Oblast. Of these, four occurred in the residential sector, including – as a result of hostilities. Rescuers reported the consequences of an enemy attack on the Kutsurub community. After the shelling in the village of Dniprovske the roof of a single-storey private house caught fire; the fire area reached 40 sq. m. No information about casualties has been received.
Among the fires in the residential sector the following cases were also recorded:
- in the village of Olhopil of the Yelanets community the roof of a house and a veranda burned over an area of 35 sq. m;
- in the village of Kazanka, Bashtanka district, an outbuilding with hay caught fire over an area of 15 sq. m;
- in Mykolaiv items on the balcony of an apartment on the 7th floor caught fire; the fire area was 3 sq. m.
In Mykolaiv the electrical wiring in the engine compartment of a Skoda Octavia caught fire. The owner managed to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher before the units arrived.
Mykolaiv firefighters extinguished fires of rubbish in an open area and a basement room in an unused building, – the city council added.
Regarding fires of rubbish and dry vegetation: two such cases occurred in Mykolaiv, another two – in Mykolaiv district, in particular in the gardening association “Berizka” and in the village of Kobleve.
