Maxi futsal team: boys from Korabelnyi are going to Berlin
Not with words, but with deeds: German partners organized a trip for young footballers from Mykolaiv to Germany
In Mykolaiv pupils of Youth Sports School No. 5, which operates in the Korabelnyi District, are preparing for a trip to Berlin, where they will take part in children’s mini-football competitions. This was reported on April 3, 2026, by the Mykolaiv City Council. The trip will take place within the framework of the municipal partnership between Mykolaiv and Berlin’s Tempelhof‑Schöneberg district.
The city council emphasized that such an initiative opens up new opportunities for children: sporting development, new acquaintances, and valuable international experience at a time when Ukrainian children particularly need support and a normal childhood. The flight and stay of the young footballers in Berlin are fully covered by the host German side.
It was noted separately that the cooperation between Mykolaiv and the Tempelhof‑Schöneberg district already has more than one joint result. Within this partnership, other projects involving Mykolaiv Water Hub and international partners have also been implemented. In particular, in 2025, thanks to these ties a film about Mykolaiv, created by students of Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, was screened in Berlin.
The trip of the team from the Korabelnyi District to Germany became another example that international partnership can provide not just formal memoranda, but real opportunities for Mykolaiv’s children. For the young athletes, it will be a chance not only to represent their city but also to feel that they are remembered beyond Ukraine’s borders.
