Deliberate burning of reeds in the Mykolaiv region caused 7 fires; more than 6 hectares were burned
Fires flared up in Mykolaiv and the villages of Zelenyi Hai, Troitske, Barativka, and Shlyakhove — reeds and grass were burning
Over the course of 29 March, the regional office of the State Emergency Service in the Mykolaiv region reported 7 fires in natural ecosystems caused by the burning of dry vegetation — reeds and dry grass burned.
The Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Mykolaiv region notes that residents continue to set fire to dry vegetation and reeds, thereby provoking new fires in open areas. The rescuers reported this in their social media post on Facebook.
Fires were recorded on open plots in the villages of Zelenyi Hai and Troitske in Mykolaiv district, as well as in the villages of Barativka and Shliakhove in Bashtanka district. In each case, patches of reeds and dry grass were on fire.
Another 3 fires were extinguished in Mykolaiv. In total, flames swept more than 6 hectares of land.
