Payments will be credited again: the Cabinet of Ministers expanded assistance for IDPs
If the application is submitted by May 1, 2026, the money will be credited "retroactively" — from January 1, 2026
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has updated the rules for providing housing assistance to internally displaced persons. The changes were announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko. According to her, the state has expanded the support program for displaced people, and payments for some of them will be extended for a longer period.
First of all, the government has extended the duration of payments for the most vulnerable categories of IDPs. They will now be able to receive state support for an additional six months.
Separately, the changes concern children among IDPs. Regardless of the family’s income, payments for them will be assigned from February 1, 2026, if the application is submitted by May 1, 2026.
The government also revised the approach to assistance for displaced persons who are unable to work, whose payments were previously stopped due to exceeding the income limit. Because the subsistence minimum has increased, such people can now re-submit documents for review and restoration of assistance.
According to Yulia Svyrydenko, if the application is submitted by May 1, 2026, the money will be accrued “retroactively” — from January 1, 2026. If the application is submitted later, the payment will be assigned from the month the application is filed.
