Nursery, work, and bills: the government is preparing monthly payments of up to UAH 12,000 for parents
What is known about the terms of the “eYasla” program, and when will it launch?
Parents who plan to return to work after parental leave will be able to receive monthly state assistance under the “єЯсла” program. The program is aimed at parents of children aged 1 to 3 who decide to return to full-time work after parental leave. The state plans to provide these families with monthly financial support to cover expenses related to caring for and supporting their child’s development. The amount of assistance will depend on the child’s needs:
- UAH 8,000 per month for each child who meets the program requirements;
- UAH 12,000 per month for a child with a disability.
This assistance is intended to help parents cover childcare costs so that returning to work does not place an unbearable financial burden on the family.
Payments under the “єЯсла” program are planned to be deposited into a special “Childcare” account within the Diia.Card. These funds are earmarked and can be used for childcare and development services covered by the program. This is therefore not unrestricted cash assistance, but financial support intended for the child’s specific needs.
According to an announcement on the Diia portal, the corresponding online service is expected to launch in the coming weeks. However, no specific date has been announced for when applications for payments under the “єЯсла” program will open. Parents planning to apply should therefore follow official announcements on the state portal and check the requirements once the service launches.
In addition to the planned expansion of the “єЯсла” program, two other services for families with children are already available on the portal. The first is maternity assistance for uninsured women, amounting to UAH 7,000 per month. The second is monthly assistance for a child during their first year of life: UAH 7,000 per month, or UAH 10,500 for a child with a disability. These services can be applied for online.
The development of digital social services is intended to make it easier for families to interact with the state and reduce the need for paperwork and in-person visits to government offices. The “єЯсла” program aims to support parents seeking to combine caring for a young child with returning to work.
