A man kept grenades, shotguns and cannabis at his home in the Pervomaisk area

In the Pervomaiskyi district, during a search of a local resident’s home, police discovered weapons, ammunition, dried cannabis plants and a device for consuming them. The man could face up to 7 years in prison.

Items seized from the property included:

• 8 grenades;
• 6 detonators;
• 2 unregistered smoothbore shotguns;
• 56 rounds of ammunition;
• dried cannabis plants;
• a device for consuming narcotic substances.

All found items were sent for examination, the matter was reported to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv region.

The man was charged with illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosive materials. After receiving the expert findings, investigators will decide whether to bring a separate charge for drug possession.

The police are also establishing the origin of the seized weapons. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
