Over 37 hectares burned in the Mykolaiv region in one day: a vehicle with beehives destroyed

25 August and during the night into 26 August on the territory of Mykolaiv Oblast, 44 fires were recorded. The total area affected by fire exceeded 37 hectares.

One of the fires occurred in the residential sector — on the grounds of a private household in Voznesensk. There wooden outbuildings burned over an area of 50 sq. m.

Another three fires occurred on vehicles:

• on the outskirts of the village of Doroshivka in Voznesensk district a VAZ-2102 car caught fire;
• in Mykolaiv, on an open area, trash, a passenger car Skoda and a truck burned. The total area burned amounted to 100 sq. m;
• outside the village of Kandybyne of the Kostyantynivka community in Mykolaiv district, dry vegetation and a GAZ-66 vehicle with a trailer that contained beehives caught fire. The vehicle was destroyed by the flames, but some of the hives were saved.

Almost all other fires occurred on open areas: dry vegetation, shrubs, post-harvest residues and trash burned.

Units of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast responded to all reports. In some incidents, firefighters from the local fire brigade were also involved in extinguishing.
