First backpacks for school: in Mykolaiv 27 future first-graders received school supplies
An additional 30 backpacks will be given to children from two vulnerable groups
Mykolaiv first-graders received their first backpacks for the new school year On the eve of September 1 27 future first-graders from Mykolaiv have already received backpacks with all the necessary school supplies.
This assistance is especially important for children whose parents died defending Ukraine or went missing. Another 30 backpacks will be given to children deprived of parental care and to first-graders among internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The aid was prepared by the German-Ukrainian charity foundation Blau-Gelbes Kreuz (“Blue-Yellow Cross“)
“Thank you to our partners for their attention to the children of Mykolaiv and for helping to create a little more joy for them ahead of the new school year,” said Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych.
He also thanked the city team for their systematic work with international partners, thanks to which Mykolaiv attracts additional support for children and the community.
