In Mykolaiv, roads on three streets were repaired in one day
Traffic was not restricted for long
August 20 in Mykolaiv municipal workers completed localized repairs of the asphalt pavement on sections of three city streets. The work was carried out as part of routine maintenance of the road and transport infrastructure, so prolonged traffic restrictions were avoided.
Specialists of KP «ELU Avtodorih» restored the pavement in one day at the following addresses:
- on Velyka Morska Street — on the stretch from Kozaka Babychenka Street to Soborna Street;
- on Buzkyi Boulevard;
- on Shevchenko Street.
During the repair, damaged areas were first milled and cleaned, after which they were treated with a bitumen emulsion. Next, a hot asphalt concrete mix was laid on the sections and compacted. The enterprise notes that in favorable weather this technology ensures the strength and durability of the new pavement.
According to the municipal workers, prompt elimination of small potholes and cracks makes it possible to stop asphalt deterioration at an early stage. Under constant traffic load, even minor damage can quickly turn into a hazardous hole. Localized repair allows extending the road’s service life by years without resorting to major repairs and prolonged traffic closures.
