In the Mykolaiv region, a man was injured while trying to connect an electric detonator to a battery
The victim sustained a mine-blast injury and other wounds
On the evening of August 17 the police station No. 2 of the Bashtanka District Police Department received a report from a medical facility about the hospitalization of a 24-year-old resident of the Bereznehuvata community in Mykolaiv Oblast.
The man suffered blast injuries, as well as wounds to his abdomen and an upper limb.
Police established that on the outskirts of the village the man found an electric detonator intended to initiate an explosive charge. He attempted to connect the device to a battery, but an explosion occurred during this.
The victim was taken to a medical facility where he received the necessary care. According to the police, his life and health are not in danger.
Law enforcement emphasizes: if you encounter an unknown or suspicious item, do not approach it, move it, transport it, disassemble it, or attempt to neutralize it yourself. Explosive items should be handled only by specialists.
