Authorities in Odesa region are checking a video of a conflict between a person in military uniform and a boy

An official inquiry has been launched in the Odesa region after a video of a conflict between a person in military uniform and a teenager spread on social media. This was reported by the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support.
The video was published by People’s Deputy Oleksii Honcharenko. He suggested that the recording shows employees of the TCC using force against a child. The deputy reacted to the published footage with the words: «This is simply the limit and a complete f***».
According to Oleksii Honcharenko, the video shows a person whom he called a serviceman and who, in his view, should be protecting civilians, strangling the teenager and pulling him by the ears. The People’s Deputy said he plans to raise the issue at meetings of the temporary investigative commission.
Honcharenko also emphasized that during wartime civilians, especially children, must be protected, not subjected to physical force.
The Odesa Regional TCC and SS confirmed that they are aware of the video recording circulating on social media. The institution’s leadership promptly initiated an official investigation.
All circumstances of the incident, the causes and preconditions of the conflict, as well as the identities of the people recorded on the video, are currently being established. The TCC stated that any violence, abuse of authority, or improper treatment of citizens is unacceptable.
If the investigation confirms the involvement of TCC and SS servicemembers in the incident and establishes an offense, those responsible will be held accountable in accordance with Ukrainian law.
At the same time, the agency urged the media and the public not to draw conclusions before the investigation is completed and not to spread unverified information. Thus, the identities of the people in the video, the circumstances of the conflict, and the involvement of TCC representatives are still being officially determined.
Recall that in Odesa, ten servicemembers of the Kyiv District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support were notified of suspicion of unlawful deprivation of liberty and torture of citizens.
