On 15 August in the Khorol community of Poltava Oblast a magnitude 2.4 earthquake was registered. The tremors were recorded by the Main Center of Special Control.
The focus of the seismic event was located at a depth of about 3 kilometers near the village of Pokrovska Bahachka. The epicenter coordinates were 49.87° north latitude and 33.19° east longitude.
Experts classified the earthquake as imperceptible, so residents of the region most likely did not feel it. The magnitude of the underground tremors was 2.4 on the Richter scale.
Earlier, the strongest earthquake in 40 years occurred in Italy.
