The latter connected the district center with the Kulbakine neighborhood. The new directions became possible thanks to trolleybuses with autonomous operation.

13 August 1941: German occupation reached Novyi Buh and Bereznehuvate

The Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine notes that from 13 August 1941 Novyi Buh was under German occupation. On the same day Bereznehuvate was also occupied. Both settlements in present-day Mykolaiv Oblast were liberated in 1944.

On this day in Ukraine and the world

13 August 1905 in the Welsh town of Barry journalist Gareth Jones was born; in 1933 he visited Ukraine and was one of the first to tell the world the truth about the Holodomor. And on the night of 13 August 1961 the GDR authorities began to block the border between East and West Berlin with barbed wire — thus began the history of the Berlin Wall.

This is how the date remained in the history of our region: transport changes and sporting victories stand alongside war, tragedies and events that remind what Mykolaiv and the Mykolaiv region went through.
