In Kyiv, two minors were detained who are suspected of attacks on women in the center of Podil. In one evening, two Kyiv residents aged 48 and 43 were injured. This was reported on August 11 2026 by the police of Kyiv.

According to the investigation, the suspects are 16- and 17-year-old residents of the Podilskyi district. That evening they had been drinking alcohol, after which, according to law enforcement, they carried out two attacks.

At Poshtova Square the teenagers provoked a conflict with a 48-year-old woman. According to the police, the 17-year-old struck her in the face with brass knuckles, and his 16-year-old companion stabbed her in the abdomen twice. The victim was hospitalized in a serious condition. Later, on Mezhyhirska Street the suspects attacked a 43-year-old Kyiv resident. One of them struck the woman in the face several times with brass knuckles. She was diagnosed with a brain contusion and other injuries.

Police located the suspects with the help of criminal analysts and detained them in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Both teenagers were notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism with the use of a pre-prepared object to inflict bodily harm. The 16-year-old youth is additionally accused under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional grievous bodily injury.

The court remanded the 16-year-old suspect in custody. His 17-year-old accomplice was placed under round-the-clock house arrest. If found guilty, they face up to eight and up to seven years of imprisonment, respectively. The final decision will be made by the court.
