The Third Wheel: After a party and a brawl in Korabelnyi District, a passerby lost money and a phone

In the evening of July 20, 2026, in the yard of an apartment building at 5 Hlynky Street in the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv, a fight occurred after which one of its participants lost a bag, a mobile phone and money. The police have already opened a criminal case on theft, identified a suspect and are preparing to notify him of suspicion.

The incident was first reported to the editorial office of Кorabelov.info by a local resident. According to her, at approximately 18:00 to 19:00 she saw from the window how a group of young men beat a man in the yard.

The woman was at home with a child and could not go outside. At the same time she noticed one of the young men hiding a bag in the bushes. The resident filmed the young men as they left the yard, and later returned and took the hidden item.

The author of the recording suggested that the bag could have belonged to the victim and expressed hope that the video would help law enforcement identify the participants.

After the publication, a young man who called himself a direct participant in the conflict contacted the editorial office. He gave a different version of events.

According to the interlocutor, he was initially relaxing in the yard with a friend. Later a third young man joined them, who allegedly insisted on sitting and drinking with the group.

Later a man approached them, and a conflict arose between him and the author of the message, which escalated into a fight. The young man claims that he fought the man alone, and the other members of the group did not beat him.

During the scuffle, the man’s bag, phone and money allegedly fell out. According to the interlocutor who spoke to the editorial office, the items were picked up by the third young man who had earlier joined the group. After that he fled and hid the bag in the bushes.

The editorial office sought an official comment from the police. At police station No. 3 of the Mykolaiv District Department, which serves the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv, they confirmed that a statement has been filed regarding the disappearance of the items.

The police reported that the identity of the suspect has already been established and he is expected to be notified of suspicion in the near future.

“Good afternoon! There is a statement regarding theft, the police of police station № 3 МРУП have initiated a criminal proceeding, the suspect has been identified, and a suspicion will be announced in the near future. There were no reports of bodily injuries.”

Thus, law enforcement is currently investigating the possible theft of the bag, phone and money. There is no separate proceeding regarding the beating because, according to the police, no one filed a complaint about bodily injuries.

The final circumstances of the incident, the role of each participant and the list of stolen items are to be determined during the pre-trial investigation.
