Commander of the 154th Brigade Kononnikov found dead: no signs of violence
Law enforcement authorities are already conducting initial investigative actions; the command of Operational Command "South" has declared its full cooperation
On Sunday, June 28, the commander of the 154th Separate Mechanized Brigade, Colonel Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Kononnikov, was found dead; the circumstances of his death are being established, the Southern Operational Command (OK «Pivden») informed about the incident on its official page on Facebook.
The statement noted that law enforcement agencies have initiated preliminary investigative actions; in addition, an internal inquiry has been appointed to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
According to preliminary data, no signs of a violent death have been established; final conclusions will be announced after the completion of the prescribed procedures and analysis of the investigation materials.
The command confirmed full cooperation with law enforcement and the provision of all necessary assistance to ensure an efficient and objective investigation.
The command also emphasized that Colonel Volodymyr Kononnikov was a devoted officer to Ukraine and his profession, a responsible commander who cared for the personnel and the needs of his subordinate military unit.
