On the night of 28 June 2026 Russian occupying forces carried out another combined attack on Ukraine. The enemy used anti-ship and ballistic missiles, as well as 142 strike unmanned aerial vehicles of various types. The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the results of combat operations as of 08:30 28 June 2026.

The aerial attack began at 18:00 on 27 June. In total, Russian forces used 150 aerial attack assets:

2 anti-ship missiles “Zircon/Onyx”, launched from Kursk Oblast;
6 ballistic missiles “Iskander-M/S-400”, launched from Bryansk Oblast;
142 strike UAVs of the Shahed, “Gerbera”, “Parodiya” types and other UAVs.

The enemy drone launches were carried out from the territory of Russia, the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk Oblast and occupied Crimea.

The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems forces and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, Ukrainian defenders shot down or suppressed 132 enemy targets:

1 anti-ship missile “Zircon/Onyx”;
all 6 ballistic missiles “Iskander-M/S-400”;
125 strike and decoy UAVs of various types.

At the same time, hits by 1 missile and 14 strike drones were recorded on 11 facilities. Debris from shot-down aerial targets fell on another 13 locations. One of the dangerous consequences of the night attack was recorded in the Darnytskyi District of Kyiv. The warhead of a Russian missile did not explode and fell directly near a residential high-rise building.

Kyiv police reported the removal of an explosive warhead of the missile after the night Russian attack. Law enforcement evacuated residents of the high-rise, secured the missile impact site and cordoned off the hazardous area until explosive ordnance disposal specialists arrived. Specialists from the EOD service together with rescuers from the State Emergency Service carefully dug the missile warhead out of the ground. After that it was transported to a special range for further destruction.

Information about other consequences of the mass attack, possible damage and casualties is being clarified.

Thus, on the night of 28 June air defense forces neutralized, in particular, 1 anti-ship missile “Zircon/Onyx”, all 6 ballistic missiles and 125 enemy drones.
