Zelensky announces ramping up strikes deep inside Russia — Ukrainian drones are already reaching Saint Petersburg
These are not isolated raids: the buildup of the domestic defense industry and the serial production of missiles and UAVs are ensuring sustained pressure on Moscow
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Sky News said that Ukrainian forces will steadily ramp up strikes on targets deep inside Russian territory, stressing that Kyiv will not remain idle in response to Russian aggression.
The comment came against the backdrop of recent attacks on facilities in Saint Petersburg and other regions of the Russian Federation, located hundreds of kilometers from the Ukrainian border, which became the subject of the conversation with the British broadcaster.
According to the head of state, such strikes are not one-off actions: their scale is driven by the systematic buildup of capabilities of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex and the development of its own technologies.
«Ukraine learned, studied and as a result produced a large number of different missiles and drones,» — emphasized Volodymyr Zelensky.
He stressed that Ukraine will continue to increase pressure on Russia by employing its own long-range strike capabilities, because, in his view, the Russian leadership begins to respond to the position of Kyiv and its partners only under sustained and tangible pressure.
«We will not simply die silently. We will respond. We will become stronger every day,» — said Volodymyr Zelensky.
The president added that the latest Ukrainian drones are already capable of reaching distant military targets as well as major cities on Russian territory.
«We will bring their war back onto their territory,» — said Volodymyr Zelensky.
Further deployment of missile and drone programs has been identified as one of the leading directions for strengthening the defense capability of the warring country. Earlier Volodymyr Zelensky noted that freezing the line of contact at current positions could become the fastest way to move toward a diplomatic resolution of the war with Russia.
