Summer arrived ahead of schedule: the warm season has officially started in the Mykolaiv region
The average daily temperature in the region has risen above +15°C: meteorologists say this marks the beginning of meteorological summer
The beginning of meteorological summer has been recorded in Mykolaiv Oblast. This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Hydrometeorology.
According to meteorologists, the average daily air temperature crossing the mark +15°C upward has already occurred across the oblast. In Voznesensk and Snihurivka this happened as early as May 5–6, and in the rest of Mykolaiv Oblast — May 16–17.
Such readings mean that a stable warm period has established in the region. For residents of Mykolaiv and the Korabelny District this is essentially a signal: the cold part of spring is behind, and the weather is shifting into summer mode.
The hydrometeorological center notes that the start of meteorological summer is important not only for the everyday feeling of warmth. A sustained rise in temperature affects the development of agricultural crops, active vegetation of plants and the course of seasonal natural processes.
For farmers in Mykolaiv Oblast this is one of the key spring weather milestones, since it is precisely after the stable crossing of +15°C that plants grow more actively and fieldwork enters the summer phase.
