Stage, talent and a presidential scholarship: three artists from Mykolaiv received a creative boost
Mykolaiv artists among the President’s scholarship recipients: the theatre congratulated young actors
The staff of the Mykolaiv Academic Art Drama Theatre congratulated Olga Storozhuk, Hryhoriy Cheremushev and Oleksandra Shamshur on being awarded the President of Ukraine’s scholarship. This was reported on the theatre’s May 16, 2026 page on Facebook.
The scholarships were awarded in accordance with Presidential Decree of Ukraine No. 383/2026 “On scholarships of the President of Ukraine for young writers and artists in the fields of musical, theatrical, visual, choreographic, variety and circus arts, and cinematography”.
For the artists of the Mykolaiv drama theatre this is not only an honor but also an opportunity to receive support to implement their own artistic ideas. The theatre’s statement says that Olga Storozhuk, Hryhoriy Cheremushev and Oleksandra Shamshur were awarded a grant project for the creative realization of their original projects. The theatre emphasized that it is proud of the artists’ achievements and expects new works from them — bright, bold, and filled with the energy of art.
This decision is also important for Mykolaiv itself, because during the war culture remains one of the ways to keep the city alive, to speak to people in the language of the stage and to support Ukrainian identity.
