In Mykolaiv a public screening of the documentary film «Happiness — Is Peace» is being prepared, which French artists shot after last year’s visit to the city; plans were announced live by the city’s chief architect, Yevhen Polyakov.
The official recalled that the team of foreign artists held more than 20 master classes for local youth — from sessions in kindergartens to work with university students.
The result of this interaction was a documentary about the city itself, its residents and the volunteer-creative initiatives that are unfolding under conditions of war.
According to Polyakov, the authors plan to show the film in France as well, to draw attention to support for Ukraine and to demonstrate the solidarity of European communities with our city.
During the broadcast he specifically highlighted the volunteer participation of the partner community in France and announced a presentation of the film for viewers in Mykolaiv.
“Their community helps. Including in 2023-2024 they raised funds, helped Ukrainian civilians endure the war within our country. One of the actions – this film will be about it. We plan to organize its screening also in Mykolaiv. We have received the film itself, so everyone here follow the invitations, come. It will be interesting, at least, to see our city from the outside, how Europeans and other people see it.”
The screening date in Mykolaiv will be announced separately; organizers urge people to watch for invitations.
