At the GVK checkpoint, inspectors recorded gross weight exceedances of 46% and 43% and axle-load exceedances of up to 56%; vehicle traffic was temporarily restricted
In the Mykolaiv region, inspectors of “Ukrtransbezpeka” stopped two DAF trucks whose drivers tried to bypass the WIM weight-control system on the M-14 highway, and during inspection found a significant exceedance of allowable weight parameters.
According to the agency, both vehicles were directed to the dimension-and-weight control checkpoint for weighing and document verification. During the inspection, significant violations of the rules for heavy-weight transport were found.
The first truck exceeded total mass by 46.19%: instead of the permitted 42 tonnes the vehicle weighed 61.4 tonnes. Additionally, an axle overload of +56.25% was recorded.
The second truck was also operating with excessive weight: the total mass exceeded the norm by 43.09% — 60.1 tonnes against the set limit of 42 tonnes. The axle overload amounted to +53.12%.
Administrative proceedings were drawn up against the carriers, and the amount of the fine in each case was set at 51,000 hryvnias. Movement of the said vehicles was temporarily restricted until the violations were rectified.
Ukrtransbezpeka emphasized that overloaded trucks cause accelerated deterioration of the road surface, increase the likelihood of road accidents and create additional risks for all road users.
