The Command of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied rumors circulating in recent days about preparations to mobilize women in Ukraine, stressing in its statement that there is no basis for such claims.

In the published statement it is emphasized that these reports are manipulative and are being used by the enemy to undermine mobilization processes and discredit the army.

The command emphasized that the rules for women remain in force and unchanged, and provided an official clarification.

“There have been no changes in Ukrainian legislation. Women may join the Armed Forces only of their own free will, and only citizens with medical and pharmaceutical education should be registered for military records.”

Separately, the agency recounted a case when a Ukrainian woman without the appropriate qualifications ended up on the military register. A service investigation found that the erroneous information was entered into the information system “Obereg” back in 2021, and additional data analysis revealed several similar cases.

It is explained that correcting such records through military enlistment and recruitment centers is currently impossible, because “Obereg” lacks a technical tool to delete information about citizens who are not conscripts or reservists.

The command reported that it has appealed to the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense with proposals to eliminate the identified shortcomings and address the problem at the system level.

“This important issue is under constant control, and all identified discrepancies are being analyzed in detail”
