Retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, in a comment to the Fox News channel, called to consider creating a new defense alliance involving Ukraine, saying that NATO, in his view, may need to be replaced.

Kellogg criticized NATO allies for their inability to resolve the situation around the conflict in Iran and suggested that the United States should look for other partners with a real willingness to act.

Considering alternatives, he outlined a possible format for a new grouping that could include Japan, Australia and some European countries, including Germany and Poland, as well as Ukraine. This was how he put forward his proposal.

Review existing defense alliances, possibly create an alliance with Japan, Australia and some European countries ready to enter the fight, such as Germany or Poland, which have become active again. Even Ukraine, which has also proven its capability as a good ally

In his remarks the retired military officer stressed that priority should be given to states capable of practical participation in collective defense, not just political support, and cited Ukraine as an example of a reliable partner.
