On social networks, testimonies are spreading from women whom territorial recruitment centers have deemed subject to mobilization and even declared wanted, despite their lack of medical education; after the publicity the Ministry of Defense explained the imperfections of the registries and apologized for the incidents.
One such story was told by psychologist Agata Zaharyan, publishing a post on Threads.
“For over a year I have been liable for military service against my will. I have no medical education, I did not attend a military department. I did not voluntarily register, but in ‘Reserve+’ I am a soldier. I was listed as wanted, which I found out about by accident. I thought it was a mistake, but I found another 20+ girls on the register at the Shevchenkivskyi District recruitment center of Kharkiv with the same situation”.
In the comments under her post, female users describe similar cases, claiming that they were placed on military records without relevant medical education.
According to the author of the post, this concerns registration at the Shevchenkivskyi District TCC of the city of Kharkiv, and she counted at least 20+ similar stories.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reacted to the reports online, stressing problems with the accuracy of data in existing databases, and apologized for incorrect notifications.
“Registers, unfortunately, are not perfect, and there are occasional odd cases”
