In Mykolaiv, the police are establishing the circumstances of a traffic accident in which a pedestrian was injured. According to preliminary data, on December 29, 2025, at approximately 17:20, a 55-year-old driver of a VAZ 2109 vehicle hit a 66-year-old pedestrian. The man was crossing the roadway outside the pedestrian crossing in the area of house 11 on Yevhenii Lohinov Street in the regional center. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian sustained bodily injuries. Medical personnel hospitalized the victim to the hospital from the scene.
Currently, law enforcement is clarifying all circumstances and causes of the accident. Preliminary investigators classified the event under part 1 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — “Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of transport by persons who manage vehicles.” The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to three years of restriction of liberty.
