Another <strong>23%<\/strong> of schools in the capital reported a high level of readiness. These figures, provided by the schools themselves, were published by the <strong>Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine<\/strong> on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mon.gov.ua\/news\/pidhotovka-shkil-do-zymy-tryvaie-shche-9-shkil-obladnaly-systemamy-avtonomnoho-elektrozhyvlennia\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">mon.gov.ua<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In total, the ministry assessed the readiness of <strong>10,887<\/strong> general secondary education institutions. Of these, <strong>83%<\/strong> achieved full or high energy autonomy, but there are significant differences between regions: in some, the figures are close to <strong>100%<\/strong>, while in others, they do not cover even half of the schools.<\/p>\n<p>The assessment was based on <strong>5<\/strong> criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the ability to operate for more than <strong>8 hours<\/strong> without a centralized power supply;<\/li>\n<li>availability of an alternative power source;<\/li>\n<li>autonomous water supply;<\/li>\n<li>autonomous heating;<\/li>\n<li>autonomous wastewater disposal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Institutions meeting <strong>4 of the 5<\/strong> requirements were considered mostly ready. As for the duration of operation without a centralized power supply, more than <strong>90%<\/strong> of Ukrainian schools exceed the established threshold.<\/p>\n<p>The highest levels of autonomy were found in frontline regions. In particular, autonomous operation can be ensured by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>99.3%<\/strong> of schools in <strong>Kharkiv Oblast<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>91.3%<\/strong> of schools in <strong>Zaporizhzhia Oblast<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The lowest readiness figures were recorded in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Volyn Oblast<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>41.6%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chernihiv Oblast<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>43.1%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Odesa Oblast<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>53.3%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To strengthen schools\u2019 energy resilience, the state has allocated a special subsidy to territorial communities. In <strong>2026<\/strong>, <strong>500 million hryvnias<\/strong> were allocated for this purpose. The funds are being used to install backup power sources, solar power plants, and energy storage systems. Communities are also contributing to the projects by providing funding from local budgets.<\/p>\n<p>Educational institutions are also receiving support from international partners, including through the <strong>LEARN<\/strong> program. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>UNICEF<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>World Bank<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>Ministry of Education and Science<\/strong> emphasizes that installing equipment alone is not enough to ensure schools can operate without interruption.
