These included the election of Mykolaiv native <strong>Vsevolod Knyazev<\/strong> as head of the <strong>Supreme Court<\/strong> and changes in the leadership of <strong>Ukroboronprom<\/strong>. Journalists uncovered the posts in public chats and published an investigation on <strong>October 28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This is reported in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slidstvo.info\/news\/vplyv-na-sudy-ta-oboronku-slidstvo-info-proanalizuvalo-telegram-komentari-z-nomeriv-arakhamii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">investigation by Slidstvo.Info<\/a>, published on October 28.<\/p>\n<p>In his response to the journalists, <strong>David Arakhamia<\/strong> denied being the author of the messages. The MP also said he did not have a <strong>Telegram<\/strong> account registered to his American number. However, he confirmed using that number for <strong>WhatsApp<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the findings were comments from <strong>2019<\/strong> about possible appointments in the <strong>Prosecutor General\u2019s Office<\/strong>. Journalists also found messages defending <strong>Arakhamia\u2019s<\/strong> public decisions.<\/p>\n<p><iframe  id=\"_ytid_57144\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"  data-origwidth=\"800\" data-origheight=\"450\"  data-relstop=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HYrjhKD9M8I?enablejsapi=1&#038;autoplay=0&#038;cc_load_policy=0&#038;cc_lang_pref=&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;loop=0&#038;rel=0&#038;fs=1&#038;playsinline=0&#038;autohide=2&#038;theme=dark&#038;color=red&#038;controls=1&#038;disablekb=0&#038;\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  epyt-is-override  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In <strong>October 2021<\/strong>, <strong>five days<\/strong> after <strong>Vsevolod Knyazev<\/strong> was elected head of the <strong>Supreme Court<\/strong>, an account linked to the politician\u2019s number commented on a post about the court\u2019s new head in the <strong>Shadow Anonymous Telegram channel<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201cHe got there thanks to his Mykolaiv connections with <strong>Arakhamia<\/strong>. Terrible investigators,\u201d the account\u2019s user wrote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, the journalists found no evidence that <strong>David Arakhamia<\/strong> had actually influenced <strong>Vsevolod Knyazev\u2019s<\/strong> election.<\/p>\n<p>Another episode concerned <strong>Ukroboronprom<\/strong>. On <strong>June 20, 2023<\/strong>, shortly before a new head was appointed, a user with <strong>Arakhamia\u2019s<\/strong> number wrote that the head of the <strong>Servant of the People<\/strong> faction allegedly controlled personnel changes:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201c<strong>Kamishin<\/strong> was brought in by <strong>Arakhamia<\/strong>. So it doesn\u2019t matter who runs <strong>Ukroboronprom<\/strong>. It looks like <strong>Arakhamia<\/strong> is simply moving his person to another area,\u201d read the comment from a user with the MP\u2019s number.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The author of that message also suggested that <strong>Herman Smetanin<\/strong> would head the company. He was later appointed to the position.<\/p>\n<p>Political commentators interviewed for the investigation were skeptical of claims that <strong>David Arakhamia<\/strong> had influenced these appointments. In their view, such posts may have created the impression that the MP had more political clout than he actually did.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arakhamia<\/strong> himself named former head of the <strong>Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim<\/strong>, as the only representative of his circle in the new government. At the same time, the politician denied having a broad network of officials close to him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Arakhamia<\/strong> and <strong>Vitalii Kim<\/strong> also acted as guarantors for MP <strong>Iryna Kormyshkina<\/strong>, who was suspected of illicit enrichment. Both said they did so because the MP was cooperating with the investigation and had no intention of going into hiding.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, <strong>Arakhamia<\/strong> confirmed meeting businessman <strong>Dmytro Firtash<\/strong> in <strong>Vienna<\/strong>.
