According to investigators, the lack of proper record-keeping at the warehouse led to a shortage of military property worth <strong>nearly UAH 900,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The violations under investigation span the period from <strong>January 2022<\/strong> to <strong>July 2025<\/strong>. According to investigators, the warehouse chief issued items without the required paperwork, failed to maintain inventory and movement logs for supplies, and did not prepare issue records. He is also accused of failing to properly oversee the storage of the property.<\/p>\n<p>A shortage of items intended to equip service members was discovered at the military unit\u2019s warehouse. The missing property included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>more than 200 sets<\/strong> of field uniforms;<\/li>\n<li><strong>248 armor plates<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>more than 140 combat shirts<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>123 sleeping bags<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>more than 440 belts<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>raincoats;<\/li>\n<li>insulated jackets;<\/li>\n<li>hearing protection;<\/li>\n<li>load-bearing equipment and other items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Investigators consider the consequences to extend beyond losses to the state: in their assessment, the shortage adversely affected the military unit\u2019s staffing and combat readiness under martial law.<\/p>\n<p>In proceedings conducted by the <strong>Mykolaiv Specialized Prosecutor\u2019s Office for Defense of the Southern Region<\/strong>, the former service member\u2019s actions have been classified under <strong>Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> as negligent treatment of military service under martial law resulting in substantial harm.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect is currently partially reimbursing the state for the losses. His guilt must be established in accordance with the procedure provided by law.<\/p>\n<p>The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the <strong>First Department of the Territorial Office of the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv<\/strong>.
