The vote took place on Wednesday, <strong>October 28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed salary cap would have applied to employees of government bodies, local self-government bodies, and public-sector institutions. In particular, the cap would have covered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>members of parliament;<\/li>\n<li>judges;<\/li>\n<li>prosecutors;<\/li>\n<li>employees of the <strong>National Bank<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An exception was proposed for those involved in defending the country and repelling Russian aggression, who would not be subject to the cap. The <strong>Government<\/strong> was to determine the full list of relevant positions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>157 members of parliament<\/strong> supported the amendment, while <strong>226 votes<\/strong> were needed for its adoption. The <strong>Budget Committee<\/strong> also opposed the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong>, the average salary of full-time employees in <strong>July<\/strong> was nearly <strong>28,500 hryvnias<\/strong>.
