The call was attended by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Russian President <strong>Vladimir Putin<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Finnish President <strong>Alexander Stubb<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Norwegian Prime Minister <strong>Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In <strong>Helsinki<\/strong>, officials explained that the purpose of the call was to convey <strong>Finland<\/strong>&#8216;s position on the upcoming negotiations to end the war in <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> directly to the Russian president.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov<\/strong> said that <strong>Stubb<\/strong> and <strong>St\u00f8re<\/strong> had not put forward any new initiatives to resolve the war during the call. He also conveyed the Russian side&#8217;s assessment that there are currently no prerequisites for a systematic approach to this issue by <strong>Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide<\/strong> said that his country and <strong>Finland<\/strong> did not intend to take on the role of mediators in resolving the war.
