Police received a report of an attack at a home in the city during the day on <strong>October 24<\/strong>. Her <strong>36-year-old<\/strong> grandson was tracked down and detained, and was notified that he was suspected of intentional murder.<\/p>\n<p>The report received by police mentioned the possible involvement of the victim\u2019s grandson. According to law enforcement, the man lived with his grandmother. While she was resting in her room, he stabbed her in the neck at least <strong>twice<\/strong>. Paramedics took the woman to a local hospital, but her injuries proved fatal.<\/p>\n<p>Officers from the <strong>Bashtanka District Police Department<\/strong> responded to the call:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an investigative team;<\/li>\n<li>operational officers;<\/li>\n<li>a forensic specialist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During investigative measures, law enforcement established the man\u2019s whereabouts and brought him to the district police department. There, investigators detained him under Article <strong>208<\/strong> of the <strong>Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. Police noted that he had previously been held criminally liable for a similar crime.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement seized the knife that the man allegedly used to inflict the fatal injuries and sent it for forensic examination.<\/p>\n<p>Under the procedural guidance of the <strong>Bashtanka District Prosecutor\u2019s Office<\/strong>, investigators notified the man that he was suspected under paragraph <strong>13<\/strong> of part <strong>2<\/strong> of Article <strong>115<\/strong> of the <strong>Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. The charge concerns intentional murder committed by a person who had previously committed intentional murder. Under this provision, he faces a sentence of up to life imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>The court ordered the suspect to be held in custody without the right to bail.
