A blind volunteer, Artem Dubenko<\/strong>, was fined 40,000 hryvnias<\/strong> by a territorial recruitment center (TRC)<\/strong>. The situation was described by MP Oleksii Honcharenko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Dubenko<\/strong> lost his sight completely at the age of two<\/strong>. He is from Kherson region<\/strong> and has been internally displaced for the past several years<\/strong>. He currently works as a massage therapist and volunteers, helping service members who lost their sight in the war.<\/p>\n

According to Honcharenko<\/strong>, before the incident in question, the man had crossed the state border several times<\/strong> without any questions being raised.<\/p>\n

About six months ago<\/strong>, Dubenko<\/strong> went to a military rehabilitation event in Lviv region<\/strong>, where he was helping as a volunteer. On the way, he was stopped at a checkpoint and told that he was wanted. At the same time, according to the MP, all of the man\u2019s documents were in order.<\/p>\n

The TRC<\/strong> issued the fine after this stop. According to Honcharenko<\/strong>, all of Dubenko\u2019s<\/strong> bank accounts were subsequently blocked. The man is now, according to the MP, forced to turn to the courts to challenge the penalty and resolve the issue with his accounts.<\/p>\n

The MP publicly appealed to the TRC<\/strong> staff involved in the situation, demanding that they investigate what happened. He also said he would not let the case go unnoticed.<\/p>\n
