That is <strong>UAH 1.2 billion<\/strong> more than the funding allocated for the current year. The plans were announced by Ukraine\u2019s Minister for Veterans Affairs, <strong>Vitalii Kim<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>2026<\/strong>, <strong>UAH 5.7 billion<\/strong> was allocated to the program. According to the minister, this will be enough to provide housing for around <strong>2,000 families<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201cDespite budget cuts, funding for this program has been increased. We understand how important housing is for veterans,\u201d said <strong>Vitalii Kim<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to this program, other housing support measures for veterans are already in place or being developed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Housing vouchers worth <strong>UAH 2 million<\/strong> are being implemented jointly with the <strong>Ministry for Communities and Territories Development<\/strong>. Commissions have already approved more than <strong>33,000 applications<\/strong>. A total of <strong>3,296 applications<\/strong>, worth <strong>UAH 6.6 billion<\/strong>, have been submitted to reserve vouchers.<\/li>\n<li>A new housing loan mechanism is being developed in cooperation with the <strong> Council of Europe Development Bank<\/strong>. The program is expected to receive <strong>\u20ac60 million<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Under the <strong>eOselya<\/strong> program, veterans can get a subsidized mortgage, with the government covering the difference in interest. In the <strong>three months<\/strong> after the program terms changed, more than <strong>400 veterans<\/strong> received loans at the subsidized rate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201cFor those who do not want to wait in line and can afford to make loan payments, this is a practical way to address their housing needs. Under our circumstances, <strong>3% per year<\/strong> is a fairly favorable rate,\u201d <strong>Vitalii Kim<\/strong> said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At the same time, the minister acknowledged that some existing support measures need improvement. For example, veterans have used rent compensation less often than expected.
