The head of state said this in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5x9dkYIRb58\">interview<\/a> on <strong><em>The Diary Of A CEO<\/em>,<\/strong> commenting on Russian forces\u2019 plans in eastern and southern Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">According to <strong>Zelenskyy<\/strong>, the Russian command aims to capture <strong>Sloviansk<\/strong> and <strong>Kramatorsk<\/strong> in <strong>Donetsk Oblast<\/strong>. At the same time, a powerful defensive line has been established in eastern Ukraine to hold back the advance of Russian forces.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>&#8220;If we give them these cities of ours, the risk is enormous. If he wants to advance further, he will be able to capture a large number of our cities. The risk is real. No one can guarantee anything,&#8221; said <strong>Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The head of state also noted that Ukraine is ready to discuss security guarantees, but Russia is demanding that Ukrainian forces withdraw further. In the president\u2019s view, this demand is unjust and offers no assurance that hostilities will not continue after concessions are made.<\/p>\n<p>As an example, <strong>Zelenskyy<\/strong> cited <strong>Kherson<\/strong>, which is divided by the <strong>Dnipro River<\/strong>. Ukrainian troops and the city\u2019s residents are on one bank, while Russian forces are on the other. From there, the occupiers continue to shell the city.<\/p>\n<p>According to the president of Ukraine, Russia controls about <strong>18\u201319% of Ukraine\u2019s territory<\/strong>. He also drew attention to the fact that Russian citizens are shown maps that do not reflect the actual situation on the front line.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, <strong>Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> said that the Russian president wants to capture <strong>Zaporizhzhia<\/strong>, but is currently unable to do so. The Ukrainian leader emphasized that <strong>Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv<\/strong> also remain Russian targets, despite <strong>Putin<\/strong> making no direct public statements to that effect.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>&#8220;He (Putin, \u2014 ed.) wants to capture the city of Zaporizhzhia, but he cannot do it. It is one of his goals. Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv are also targets, although he does not say so directly,&#8221; <strong>Zelenskyy<\/strong> said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"korabelov_info\/129869\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The president of Ukraine also commented on U.S. President <strong>Donald Trump\u2019s<\/strong> calls to seek a compromise to end the war. According to <strong>Zelenskyy<\/strong>, Ukraine is already agreeing to a serious compromise: a ceasefire and a halt to hostilities along the current front line.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>&#8220;The biggest compromise we are already making is a ceasefire. Let\u2019s simply stop this war,&#8221; the head of state said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Zelenskyy<\/strong> added that he had repeatedly tried to explain Ukraine\u2019s position to <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong>, emphasizing that <strong>maintaining the current front line is already a significant compromise in itself<\/strong>.
