The military leadership of <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> decides where to deploy this weaponry based on defense needs. Mayor <strong>Oleksandr Senkevych<\/strong> gave this explanation during an interview.<\/p>\n<p>According to the mayor, all Ukrainian cities are experiencing a shortage of air defense systems. The available systems therefore need to be distributed with the overall situation and military priorities in mind. <strong>Senkevych<\/strong> said he trusts the military command, as it has the information needed to determine where strengthening air defenses is most important.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201cEven if I wanted to, and some foreign defense minister called me and said they were ready to transfer air defense systems to <strong>Mykolaiv<\/strong>, we wouldn\u2019t be able to accept them. Simply because our military knows better which section of the front needs them most,\u201d Mayor <strong>Oleksandr Senkevych<\/strong> explained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Answering a question about talks with international partners to strengthen the city\u2019s air defenses, the mayor also clarified his role during trips abroad. He represents the national position of <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> and does not conduct independent negotiations on arms supplies.<\/p>\n<p>As an example, <strong>Senkevych<\/strong> cited his visit to <strong>Denmark<\/strong> in <strong>2023<\/strong>. At the time, he raised the issue of transferring American <strong>F-16<\/strong> fighter jets to <strong>Ukraine<\/strong>. According to him, <strong>about a week<\/strong> after the trip, Denmark agreed to transfer the aircraft.
