It is my responsibility; I have to defend my country from the beginning to the end of this war,\u201d <strong>Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the president, <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> would need about <strong>six months<\/strong> to prepare for an election after the war ends.<\/p>\n<p>If the vote is held before the war ends, however, a ceasefire of at least <strong>60 days<\/strong> would be necessary. This period would be needed to prepare legislative changes and ensure the necessary security conditions.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p>\u201cWe need a fair election; we need the military to be able to vote. If you think I don\u2019t want elections, that\u2019s not true,\u201d President <strong>Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> stressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Zelenskyy<\/strong> has previously said that <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> is ready to hold a presidential election if <strong>Russia<\/strong> agrees to such a truce.
