President <strong>Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> reported these figures on Sunday, <strong>October 18<\/strong>. According to him, despite the US initiative, <strong>Russia<\/strong> continues its deliberate strikes on facilities that supply Ukrainians with electricity.<\/p>\n<p>Last night, Russian forces attacked substations in <strong>four regions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vinnytsia region<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Zhytomyr region<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Khmelnytskyi region<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Odesa region<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Following the shelling, <strong>tens of thousands of households<\/strong> remain without electricity. Energy workers and emergency repair crews are working around the clock to restore damaged equipment and bring power back to residents.<\/p>\n<p>The overnight strikes also hit residential buildings in various regions of <strong>Ukraine<\/strong>. As of this morning, <strong>two people had been killed<\/strong> and <strong>12 injured<\/strong>, including <strong>two children<\/strong>. The president offered his condolences to the families of those killed.<\/p>\n<p>This morning, Russian forces also struck an agricultural enterprise in <strong>Volyn region<\/strong>. The relevant services are working at the site.<\/p>\n<p>According to the head of state, the overall scale of the aerial attacks during this period was:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>nearly <strong>2,700 attack drones<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>1,700 guided aerial bombs<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>66 missiles<\/strong>, most of them ballistic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201cThe main targets of these strikes are precisely energy facilities; the Russians are trying to cause a blackout,\u201d said <strong>Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The president urged the <strong>United States<\/strong> to take <strong>Russia\u2019s<\/strong> actions into account when making further decisions on sanctions and possible agreements.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201cAnd <strong>America<\/strong> must see that <strong>Russia<\/strong> is not taking steps toward peace in response to sanctions being lifted or agreements.
