The accident occurred on the evening of <strong>October 15<\/strong> near the village of <strong>Stavyshche<\/strong>. A <strong>36-year-old<\/strong> man was killed.<\/p>\n<p>According to preliminary information, the driver of a <strong>Renault<\/strong> struck a pedestrian and then left the scene. The victim\u2019s body was found on the morning of <strong>October 16<\/strong> near a public transport stop not far from the <strong>M-05<\/strong> highway.<\/p>\n<p>That same day, the prosecutor contacted law enforcement. He admitted to being involved in the crash and indicated where the car that had allegedly struck the pedestrian was located.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of the incident, the prosecutor was on childcare leave and was not performing his official duties. He was detained under Article <strong>208<\/strong> of the <strong>Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A notice of suspicion is now being prepared under Part <strong>2<\/strong> of Article <strong>286<\/strong> of the <strong>Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. This provision concerns violations of traffic safety rules by a driver that result in a victim\u2019s death.
