Vladyslav Vitoldovych Matskevych<\/strong>, a submariner, retired 1st<\/strong>-rank captain and former chief metrologist at the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding<\/strong>, has died in Mykolaiv<\/strong>. He devoted many years to naval service, researching the history of the fleet and preserving the city\u2019s historical heritage.<\/p>\n

He shared a longstanding friendship with the M. L. Kropyvnytskyi Central City Library<\/strong>. He first met its staff around 20 years<\/strong> ago. From his very first visit, they discovered a shared interest in the past of Mykolaiv<\/strong> and a desire to preserve the memory of its maritime history. Over time, Vladyslav Matskevych<\/strong> became a regular visitor and an active participant in cultural and local history events.<\/p>\n

An important part of this collaboration was adding to the library\u2019s collections. Almost every time he visited, he brought materials related to the city and the fleet. He donated:<\/p>\n
