U.S. President Donald Trump<\/strong> criticized Ukraine<\/strong> for resuming strikes on Russian oil refineries. His remarks came after a three-day<\/strong> pause in Ukrainian attacks, during which Russia<\/strong> continued its massive strikes on Ukraine\u2019s energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Russian forces used missiles and attack drones against power plants and other energy facilities. As a result, hundreds of thousands<\/strong> of Ukrainians lost power.<\/p>\n

Before the attacks resumed, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> said in an interview that Ukraine\u2019s patience had run out and announced a return to strikes on Russian oil refineries. Kyiv<\/strong> then resumed the attacks amid Russian strikes on Ukraine\u2019s power grid.<\/p>\n

In an interview, Trump<\/strong> directed his criticism personally at the Ukrainian president:<\/p>\n

\u201cAll he\u2019s doing is driving up global oil prices. In my opinion, it\u2019s a disgrace,\u201d Donald Trump<\/strong> said, referring to Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The U.S. president also linked Ukrainian strikes to rising diesel prices. However, the claim that the attacks affect global prices is his assessment: the remarks quoted here provide no specific data to confirm the scale of any such impact.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are many other targets that could be hit, but when they attack facilities that produce diesel fuel\u2014and it\u2019s needed by us and the whole world\u2014that doesn\u2019t benefit the world,\u201d Trump<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In effect, the U.S.<\/strong> president urged Ukraine<\/strong> to choose other targets. He stressed that fuel from oil refineries is needed not only by Russia<\/strong>, but by other countries as well.<\/p>\n

Trump<\/strong> also spoke again about the possibility of ending the Russian-Ukrainian war. He described the personal animosity between Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> and Russian President Vladimir Putin<\/strong> as a major obstacle to a peace agreement.<\/p>\n
