People had to spend more on food, clothing and footwear, transport, and education. Meanwhile, vegetables and fruit became cheaper.<\/p>\n<p>Food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by an average of <strong>2.3%<\/strong>. Eggs saw the largest price increase during the month. The most notable changes for individual products were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>eggs \u2014 up <strong>40.4%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>pork fat \u2014 up <strong>22.2%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>sugar \u2014 up <strong>12%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>fruit \u2014 down <strong>4.4%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>vegetables \u2014 down <strong>4.3%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prices for several other food products and beverages rose by between <strong>2.8% and 6.2%<\/strong>. These included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>butter;<\/li>\n<li>buckwheat;<\/li>\n<li>milk;<\/li>\n<li>pasta;<\/li>\n<li>fish and fish products;<\/li>\n<li>poultry;<\/li>\n<li>wheat flour;<\/li>\n<li>rice;<\/li>\n<li>non-alcoholic beverages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Education costs also increased: educational services in the region became <strong>12.5%<\/strong> more expensive. The main factor was the rising cost of higher education, with university tuition fees increasing by <strong>17.5%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Updating a wardrobe for autumn also required greater spending. Clothing and footwear rose by <strong>14.3%<\/strong> overall, due to the arrival of winter items in stores. Price changes within this category varied:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>clothing became <strong>16.3%<\/strong> more expensive;<\/li>\n<li>footwear \u2014 <strong>11.7%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the transport sector, prices rose by an average of <strong>3.1%<\/strong> during the month. One of the main factors was higher fuel prices:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A-95<\/strong> gasoline rose by <strong>6.9%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>A-92<\/strong> gasoline \u2014 by <strong>6.5%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>diesel fuel \u2014 by <strong>4.1%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Passenger transport fares also increased:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>commuter train fares rose by <strong>7.3%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>commuter bus fares \u2014 by <strong>4.2%<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>intercity bus fares \u2014 by <strong>4.1%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Alcohol and tobacco products became <strong>2.4%<\/strong> more expensive overall.
