In Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong>, a court sentenced an 18-year-old<\/strong> resident of Kherson Oblast<\/strong> to up to seven years<\/strong> in prison for robbing and assaulting two<\/strong> residents of the Snihurivka community<\/strong>. The police reported the sentence on October 14, 2026<\/strong>. The court found the defendant guilty, but the ruling has not yet entered into force.<\/p>\n

The attack took place on May 22, 2026<\/strong>. That day, a 27-year-old<\/strong> resident of Snihurivka<\/strong> filed a robbery report with Police Station No. 2 of the Bashtanka District Police Department<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The investigative team that arrived at the scene established what had happened. The complainant was walking down Hetmana Sahaidachnoho Street<\/strong> with his 31-year-old<\/strong> acquaintance when a car stopped beside them. An unidentified man got out and asked if they had any cigarettes. When they said no, he assaulted them both and took their bags<\/a>, which contained a mobile phone, tablet, headphones, and personal belongings. The attacker then fled.<\/p>\n

During \u043e\u043f\u0435\u0440\u0430\u0442\u0438\u0432\u043d\u043e-\u0440\u043e\u0437\u0448\u0443\u043a\u043e\u0432\u0438\u0445 \u0437\u0430\u0445\u043e\u0434\u0456\u0432, the police established that an 18-year-old<\/strong> resident of Kherson Oblast<\/strong> was involved in the crime. He had been driving around the city in a car matching the victims\u2019 description. Law enforcement officers reconstructed the attack in full and proved the man\u2019s involvement.<\/p>\n

Later, investigators seized the stolen property, detained the suspect in accordance with the law, and notified him that he was suspected of robbery involving violence and committed under martial law. The court subsequently ordered him held in pretrial detention.<\/p>\n

After receiving the findings of forensic medical examinations, investigators also opened a pretrial investigation into the injuries inflicted on the complainant. In July 2026<\/strong>, police investigators completed the pretrial investigation and sent the indictment to the prosecutor\u2019s office. The prosecutor\u2019s office submitted it to the court for consideration on the merits.<\/p>\n
