As of <strong>October 12<\/strong>, its first section was nearing completion, according to researchers from the OSINT project <strong>\u201cAbsolutely Reliable Source\u201d<\/strong>, who assessed the construction progress using satellite images.<\/p>\n<p>As recently as early <strong>September<\/strong>, the site was an empty field. Analysts have drawn attention to the rapid pace of work on the new <strong>\u201cMillerovo\u201d<\/strong> drone port.<\/p>\n<p>According to their observations, the facility includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>8<\/strong> launch pad sites;<\/li>\n<li><strong>32<\/strong> positions where drones can be prepared for launch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A satellite image from the date in question also shows signs of drones being unloaded in one section of the facility.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers believe the site is intended for <strong>\u201cGeran-5\u201d<\/strong> jet-powered drones. In their view, construction may have been accelerated to expand Russian forces\u2019 capacity to launch massive strikes on <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> following attacks on <strong>Kyiv<\/strong> in <strong>September<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The analysis authors also noted similarities between the construction features and those of another Russian facility known as <strong>\u201cTsimbulov.\u201d<\/strong> They believe that destroying such facilities with conventional kamikaze drones could be difficult, and that effectively striking them would require more powerful long-range weapons.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, analysts view the new site as part of Russia\u2019s continuing expansion of infrastructure for launching attack drones at Ukrainian territory, including new jet-powered models.
