This will allow the vehicle to be used in the event of possible power outages.<\/p>\n<p>The conversion was carried out in-house by <strong>Mykolaivelektrotrans Municipal Enterprise<\/strong>. Specialists have completed the necessary tests and are now preparing the documents required to put the trolleybus into service.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor <strong>Oleksandr Sienkevych<\/strong> believes that upgrading the existing fleet is a way to ensure more reliable public transport service during possible power cuts.<\/p>\n<p>Following the conversion, <strong>\u201cDnipro\u201d<\/strong> became the <strong>42nd<\/strong> vehicle with autonomous operation in the enterprise\u2019s fleet. <strong>Mykolaivelektrotrans Municipal Enterprise<\/strong> Director <strong>Yurii Smetana<\/strong> noted that the city is not only acquiring new vehicles but also expanding the capabilities of the ones it already has.<\/p>\n<p>The fleet of vehicles with autonomous operation has previously been expanded through both purchases and the restoration of damaged vehicles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mykolaiv<\/strong> purchased <strong>40<\/strong> <strong>PTS<\/strong> trolleybuses capable of autonomous operation. The purchase was made under an agreement with the <strong>European Bank for Reconstruction and Development<\/strong> and with support from the government of <strong>Denmark<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2024<\/strong>, the enterprise restored trolleybus <strong>No. 3002<\/strong>, which had been damaged in shelling. It was also fitted with an autonomous-operation system during the restoration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To keep electric public transport running during power outages, generators have been installed at various facilities operated by the enterprise. According to the head of <strong>Mykolaivelektrotrans<\/strong>, they make it possible to charge <strong>23<\/strong> trolleybuses at the same time.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery
