They are set to include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>743 individuals<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>826 organizations<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>77 people<\/strong> who ran in <strong>September<\/strong> in elections to the <strong>Russian State Duma<\/strong> in temporarily occupied parts of <strong>Ukraine<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The restrictions include a ban on entering the <strong>European Union<\/strong>, asset freezes, and a ban on providing funding. Once the new package is approved, the total number of people on the <strong>EU<\/strong> sanctions list will reach nearly <strong>4,650<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kaja Kallas<\/strong>, the <strong>EU<\/strong> High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, announced the decision and called it the largest single expansion of the <strong>European Union\u2019s<\/strong> sanctions list since the start of <strong>Russia\u2019s<\/strong> war against <strong>Ukraine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p>\u201cWe are making it much harder, slower, and more expensive for <strong>Russia<\/strong> to produce the weapons it uses to kill Ukrainians,\u201d <strong>Kaja Kallas<\/strong> wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Separately, the <strong>United Kingdom<\/strong> imposed <strong>31<\/strong> new sanctions against <strong>Russia<\/strong>.
